Christmas fun and lovely news

Good morning Friends! I have been playing along with the My Scraps And More 12 days of Christmas challenge. Audrey came up with fun prompts for a total of 12days, such a fun way to scrap the holidays. I want to share two fun layouts I made from these prompts.
The prompt was to use a grey background. I have been waiting for the perfect project to use up the Pink Paislee Die Cuts I got a few weeks back, They were great for this layout. Last year we tried to get a photo of the girls and Chester Blu, but like a typical shoot with small ones, each photo had one looking off. This year Chester was the most difficult to keep still, but we FINALY got one, and crazy Little A had to make a face. I love the perfect capture of the attempt at a nice photo almost as much as it would have felt to get the perfect photo!
The other layout I made with a recipe prompt of using triangles, stars and numbers. My stars are a bit hidden, and I always add my date, so BAM, challenge met!
I love working with patterned paper in unique ways. I had this paper from my stash that had a chevron pattern that I chose to fussy cut and fold down, backing with glitter paper. Nothing screams "the magical feel of Christmas" like glitter papers!!

And speaking of My Scraps And More, I was asked to join the team for the upcoming year, starting in January. I came across the forum when directed on facebook to a recent  pinterest crop, and fell in love with the group. Seriously, if you are looking for a genuine, sweet place to mingle and play, this is it!!
I hope everyone has a great end to their week and nobody is too stressed with the shortening time before Christmas day!!

I swear I lived

Happy Friday Friends! I am sharing this layout I posted yesterday for UmWowStudio. I was mentally prepared for creating only festive projects this month, but this song by One republic came blasting through my headphones at the start of my creative process, and I knew I just had to turn my project into a focus of that song!
I used the Tag book as my base, and worked up from there using the song words as my journaling. I have been obsessed the past month with thread under embellishments, I love the tiny bit of color they add!
How awesome is that Flair! It just screams "beauty and magic of life"! And how cute is that wooden bow I found in the Things That Shine shop! Of course I have my floating confetti, nothing screams,"your layout is complete" like my punched confetti! It is a bit like conveying my personality, go with the flow, random, colorful, and fun(or I try to be, when I'm not run down from all this winter weather!) :)  Thanks or stopping by friends, I hope you have a beautiful end to your work week!

The good life

What seems to give this beautiful ride we call life more meaning than the mere act of celebration. I am a firm believer in celebrating all things in life, basking in the warmth of the sun, bare feet on fresh grass( fresh cut grass is the greatest of smells) , the tiniest clasp of a fist from your new born baby, these are the beautiful gifts of life.
Among the beauties to celebrate, are the gifts we know as another year on this earth, more time to celebrate these little, everyday gifts. Just a few short months ago, we celebrated little K's 3rd birthday. What a sweet celebration it was. A day filled with friends, fun, laughter, and great celebration.

Nothing screams "celebration" like floating confetti. I played with the balance of greens and pinks, sprinkled with a dab of glitter, for just the look I was hoping for! I created this layout, using this weeks My Scraps and More sketch #94 ! It was great inspiration!
I hope everyone had a beautiful holiday, I myself have been terribly under the weather, but as long as we can get on the mend intime to travel out of state for Christmas, there will be no complaints here!

9 blissful years!

This day, just 9 short years ago, will forever remain one of the greatest days of my life. Nothing could have prepared me for the journey of the day that was November 24th, 2005. In to the Dr's for a routine exam, I was told that my looming preeclampsia had cased the proper issues, resulting in a night of admittance and observation, only to be told that the following day (Thanksgiving day as it was) would be the day I would become a mother. Over 18 hours later, this beautiful, bright eyed baby girl changed my forever title and my life. I would forever, from that day forward, be known as "mom","mommy", "mother".
As the story was shared, gathered around the kitchen just late last night, all 6lbs, 11 oz came sweetly into this world. Wouldn't you believe, there was no screaming or crying to be heard. As they placed her in the bassinet for observation, she just gleamed in wonder towards the soft tones of her daddy.
( beautiful years late, she remains my soft hearted, observant natured, creative, soulful, sweet baby girl. Here is to another year of life, and as we see it, a most blessed reason to be extra grateful this week!

Besties always

Good morning friends! We are on day two in a row with cancelled school here, lots of snow and ice, but very happy girls to get to stay home. I created this fun layout during the crop this past weekend, using the current My scraps and more sketch found HERE. Such a fun sketch. I loved playing with my jillibean soup paper, cutting the rows of triangles into individual triangles to lay about my page.
I love how fun the layout is, and it makes me happy just looking at it! Thanks for peeking in, and I hope everyone stays warm. I know I will be rocking my wool socks today!

Love life!

It is a beautiful(chilly) day here, the snow is gently falling and I caught a photo coming back rom the bus of the house . It is the most magical sight, making me yearn to put up all my Christmas décor now, but I will hold off another week, as next week marks my oldest baby girls 9th birthday!

How can you NOT love life in moments like this! I wanted to share this layout also up on the UmWowStudio blog today. I have always loved this photo of little L, she looks so deep in beautiful thoughts and a love for life! I created a quite monotone layout than my usual style, to be able to focus on these gorgeous UmWowStudio products. I mean, seriously, how perfect is the saying on this flair!
I created this layout, once again, with my hand creating, cutting tools, rather than a machine.
#1: first I chose the best letters to trace, and found them in a very old stash of chipboard letters, they are so old I am unsure of the brand and they were taken out of the package long ago. I chose the letters and placed them together to create the word of choice.

#2: I than traced one letter at a time, slightly overlapping so that the finished word would be one piece.

#3: after tracing, I used my exacto knife to cut out the word from my cardstock. I repeated this two more times to have enough "love" words to fill my 12x12 paper properly.

I chose to finish the look with some gradient misting, and adding all my UmWowStudio and other embellishments.
I hope everyone is having an awesome start to their week! Thanks for stopping in :)

Use it if you've got it!

Good morning lovely friends and readers! As mentioned earlier, I have been playing along with the ladies over at My Scraps and more. The pinterest crop was great for inspiration and lovely chatter. I loved using the same idea and seeing so many takes on it. One of the challenges was to create a page inspired by a child rubiks cube game. Going based on an idea of a square grid, I created this layout, using cut squares as my photo mat.
I had also found this photo on pinterest myself and needed to use it for inspiration, and this felt like the perfect match to combine ideas.
I had so much fun making this. For quite sometime now I have been weighing the idea to share a bit more of my process with you and this deemed a great start! I was never quite a fan of the cricut, too cutesy for my style, so I never invested, and had yet to get a cameo( until I can open it at Christmas...eeek...shhh, hubby told me to get it so he wouldn't get the wrong one). So what's a girl to do when she loves the look of shapes, words, and designs from a lazer cutter.... create her own of course. So I created this shape like so.....
#1: first I cut two 6x6 papers and lined them up at their halfway point stacked on one another, creating the star shape.
#2: Using this star as my guide, I turned my paper facing the blank side, so not to show the pen marks on the paper side, and traced the negative space between each point, alternating patterns of paper as I went( I chose to cut  4 papers, 2 of each).
#3: I lined up all the papers to create a shape similar to my pinterest pinned shape, creating this shape.
#4: Cutting equal sized squared, I created a grid inside the shape as my photo mat.
#5: I than chose to use vellum to place in the triangle shapes to complete the pinned shape. I used my ruler and placed the vellum atop the spaces to trace the EXACT shape needed for each space, as shifting of patterned papers may make them a tad different from one another.
And Voila... I created what I set out to do, and completed the layout until my heart felt it was right!
So there you have it. No pricy lazer cutter, still want similar results, create your own. I just used my imagination, a tiny ruler, and my trusty exacto knife!
I hope you liked seeing a bit of how my brain works to complete projects!
And speaking of "using it if you've got it" , as I know most of us scrapbookers do, I have a long tucked away bin of stash products. I have been saving it for, who knows, in hopes to sell on ebay(difficult with little to no motivation), to pass to the girls( I still will on some things), but until than I am about to raid it for my Christmas "daily" album. Who says you need to use all new product to create holiday memories! Have a BEAUTIFUL weekend friends!

Life in recent-November

Life has been a blissful chaos in the Marshall home lately. After our move across country just a few short months ago, we are all falling into a daily ebb and flow that works well for the time being. We are preparing for the holiday months, as all are, but we are exceptionally excited for the holiday season this year as it will be the first time in 3 years traveling "home" to Maine to be with family. We were so blessed to spend the past 2 years with our West coast family, but with a brand new baby niece, a new family pet to share, and the ache of a motherly hug, this year is set up to be a beautiful Christmas. Until than, I fill my moments in between with what speaks to my heart, and I felt it would be a lovely thing to share with my friends. So here is my life in recent, what I am doing lately!

Doing:
Honestly, lots of filling time with background T.V, some playing with paper, and basic daily cleaning. I know, its a very exciting thing, this life of a stay-at-home mom!

Reading:
I have been on a reading streak lately. I have soooo many books saved up, that as much as I desire to enjoy these books, part of me is just as excited to read one book so I can start another! I just picked up this book the other day and is my current read. I have always been drawn to stories of the holocaust for the connection of empathy and sociology, a reminder of what is truly necessary in life.

Watching:
Seriously, hubby and I happened upon this new show last night, and being from Southern Maine where the cast and crew shoot, it is my own little slice of nostalgia.

Listening to:
Is it wrong to be a 30 year old and jam out to a once boy band member?? If it's wrong, I don't want to be right!

Thinking:
Oh how I missed the four seasons. First snowfall of the season touched lightly upon my boots( yet to be worn in years due to west coast weather), and it took all restraint not to screech out in excitement like a little kid!

Thanks for peeking into what life has been like for me lately! I hope everyone has a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

and I shall keep you!

Happy hump of the week day! It has been long days here. Hubby has been working long hours, leaving me to my babies, and than books at bedtime. Of course on my down time, I have been filling the hours with my paper and glue. I created this fun layout to go along with this weeks sketch over at Elles Studio. I am not one to often scrap pets, but we captured this amazing photo of Chester-Bu and I just had to put it to paper. Those that have followed me for quite sometime now will remember this post of our previous pet, Sunnie, whom passed away suddenly. This layout became a beautiful thing for us as it was the only layout ever scrapped with her. I vowed to include our next pet more in my projects when the time came. Fast forward 2 years after her passing, we stumbled upon the cutest ball of wrinkles at the pet store and just had to bring him home.

He is now known as the majestic lion, mountain goat, as he feels the need to climb on everything, to the highest peek. Quite the feat for such a large dog, if I do say so myself. So here is to Chester-Blu, my always slobbery, sometimes stinky, but ALWAYS playful and loveable beast of a dog!

Ode to thirty!

Good morning friends! It is a chilly day here in NY and I am spending it with lots of paper and glue, playing along with the crop over at My Scraps and More! Its a fun group! I wanted to share this layout I created just for fun , documenting my 30th birthday! I have really come into myself in my late 20's, and I HIGHLY embraced the upcoming of my 30th birthday, so here is to the past 3 decade, beautiful memories, and optimism of the next 3 decades( hopefully more). Stay warm and have a beautiful, blessed weekend!

Getting fancy!

Good morning friends! I wanted to share the optimistic layout I created just for fun! It has been a rough few weeks in our household. It is with heavy heart to share that we lost a beautiful family member last week. My husbands Nana, a beautiful woman through and through, sadly lost her battle with Cancer. Are we sad?? Greatly, but amongst all the sadness is great blessing. We were truly blessed, as a family to get the chance to be stationed 2 hours from here these past two years. We will forever reassure the time spent and memories made. On the home front, I have had a declining issue with breathing since the move. It may be something in the home, or outdoor allergies, but I have been struggling to breathe, ontop of being asthmatic. It finally became to much, and I chose to got to the ER Monday morning. This resulted in a crazy long wait, as to be expected, and lengthy treatments of liquid inhalants and liquid steroids, to be sent home with steroid pills and inhalers! So, seeming necessary, today, I rest.
I wanted to share this layout of a beautiful time for our family, despite the crazy week. We were also blessed the past two years with this view out our backyard! This view and a warm cup of coffee on the back porch; YES PLEASE! How my feet wish to be bare here again, rather than confined in my warm boots!

I played along with this months FANCY PANTS SKETCH! I loved the lines of the sketch, and knew right away I wanted to build off of the idea of masking and spraying my title! You have until the 10th to share if you feel inspired also! I hope everyone is feeling well and not too sick with tummy aches from this weekends "candy tax" we all love to collect ;)

fill your heart.....

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!! It is rainy here, but we are excitedly counting the days until family that we have not seen in over 3 years, ( including a niece we have yet to meet) fly in. # days and counting! Between getting things ready for visitors and cleaning, I have found myself needing to fill my time. Hubby finally started at work on Monday, leaving little K and I alone all day until sisters get home at 3. Very long and lonely days as I have yet to get into an outlet to meet new people, so what better way to fill the moments in between than playing with some paper and glue.
I was inspired this week to combine two online challenges. First I used THIS sketch from Paper Issues, their new extension of inspiration. I also played along with the society 52 challenge on Instagram to use a quote and later add some foil! I was happy with the outcome, although its a bit of a softer palette than I gravitate towards.

Its a bit hard to make out the foil, but there is a tiny star tucked behind the sequins on my quote, along with all my floating triangles, gold foil! I was happy to have the time to play along! I hope ya'll have a LOVELY weekend and thanks for peeking in!

the BIGGEST pumpkin ever!

I was up over at the UmWowStudio blog yesterday with my layout documenting our family pumpkin from last year. We had walked into the grocery store with no intention of getting a pumpkin at the time, but there in our face, stood the largest pumpkin we had ever seen. I cannot remember the exact weight but I do remember that I could in no way pick it up and carry it alone. We brought it home, only to create the largest haunted house to ever adorn a pumpkin!
I wanted to use a shape for my layout that could contain my UWS Confetti in a group, and the sunburst just made the most sense! I chose the most festive papers I could find, including an old green Hambly chevron paper( please tell me I am not the only one still hoarding my Hambly stash?)
I used my UWS Sequin Confetti in one section, while placing my UWS Arrow Confetti in another strip, perfectly drawing attention to my photo!
I loved grouping my UWS Confetti together and with just 2 weeks until Halloween, it was just the page  I needed to get me in the festive mind frame!

Life's simple surprises

Good morning friends!
It is quite the chilly day here. I would be lying if I didn't admit that my feet miss being bare, socks and shoes can be so constricting. They just want to be free!!
The ladies and I are up today at LCOM with another fun sketch inspired layout. I love working with sketch's to get my brain working, interpreting the ideas in my head to make the layout mine. I have a personal habit of turning my sketch's. I am not sure where this desire comes from, but its normally the first step. For this sketch, I actually chose to keep the sketch as is to work with!
I started by finding this super fun paper for my base. It is hard to tell in detail, but the white polka dots are a type of fuzzy material, adding a fun dimension. I also realized half way through the page that it unintentionally screamed "HALLOWEEN COLORS", the spirit of the seasons must be deep in my heart this month!
I cannot help but LOVE these photos I snapped of the girls one day. We had a scheduled lawn service that would kick on at night, but on rare occasions it would unexpectedly kick on in the bright sunshine of the day. We always took this as a sign to stop and enjoy this simple little gift by stopping everything and running out to play in the water! You just cannot beat the excitement on the girls faces!
You can check out all of the interpretations and play along for our chance at a this weeks prize by joining in at the LCOM Blog. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend, filled with little, unexpected joys; Life's simple surprises!

It's alll about layered chippies and Fall ya'll

Hey Friends and readers. The ladies and I over at UmWowStudio have been busy playing with out layered chipboard to bring you crazy amounts of inspiration today. Being the beginning of Fall, I know that I am not the only one inspired by the amazing festive projects that are circulating the Scrapbook Community lately. The colors, the patterns, and OH, all the leaves! I myself am inspired by my first fall back in New England in over 10 years. I created this décor piece with the original want to showcase my layered squares as mini shadowboxes. I first covered a wooden block in paper of choice and twine, leaving enough room to squeeze in my squares for showcasing. I created my coordinating tag, placing it upon sticks and surrounded by gorgeous glittery leaves  and wrapped wire.

After completing my projects, as I always do, I shared them with the family, and everyone is in agreement that the little sequin filled shadowbox I created in my UmWowStudio Layered Square is our favorite part of this piece.
I also added an UmWowstudio Button Mash to my tag for just the right touch to balance the tag out!
If you have stopped in from the UWS blog, thanks for peeking in! If you have yet to check the blog, we would love for you to check in on all the amazing inspiration and also the chance at a great prize! I hope you enjoy the inspiration and were inspired by all my luscious fall colors.

Undies on the head!

As a mother of three, I can honestly admit that there have been a handful of tips when the "documenter"  in me has won over my mother of the year award. There was the time Little L was just a year old, and she snuck in the pantry for food, but all she could reach was the bag of flour on the ground. Now we all know what happens to flour when it gets wet. All that "paste" in her mouth made for the cutest photo of disgust! I cleaned her up and helped her rinse her mouth, but not  before documenting the evidence of course! Than there was the  time that Little A got a hold of daddys gaming headphones. An expensive toy to play with, but again, must capture the moment before collecting the object up before damage. Fast forward to about a year ago. I was in the livingroom, when Little K came sauntering into the room with a book in hand, wanting to be read to. Now this alone is not much of a story to share, however, her fashion choice was. Adorned upon that sweet little head, was nothing other than her big sisters( clean) undies! She was so content with its placement, that I did not have the heart to correct it, but you can bet I snapped a quick photo, for a layout such as this!
I completed this layout with the help of the super fun UmWowStudio Layered Squares! I wanted to play around with the squares, adding a few hand stitched squares to complement them. In all honesty, the original , genius, concept of these embellishments are to layer them atop one another for an equally amazing look, but for this project, I chose to scatter them out.

Look at that sweet face, how could one crush that heart with her unique fashion choice. You can see my layout, along with some more amazing inspiration from the UWS team on the blog HERE!
Also, speaking of the layered shapes, the girls and I have teemed up to bring you inspiration on how to use this super product, which was the brain child of UmWowStudio. Owner DeeDee is always come up with fresh inspiration to keep me inspired. I would love for you to stop back in Monday to see my first décor project in a long time, to bring in the luscious fall, showcasing some more of these layered squares! I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!

sometimes life throws lemons at your face!

It has been a crazy whirlwind of a few weeks! For those hat follow my blog, you may know that Hubby is a military man, leaving us on the move every few years. We recently had a large move from California to Northern New York. Hubby's job description changed and was given orders to become a recruiter for a bit. This resulted in a 6 week course starting early July. Hubby drove an hour away, staying away from the family Sunday-Friday nights for 6 weeks straight. Everyone in the course are asked for locations within the U.S.A that they wish to work from, yet we did not find out where we would be moving until just 2 weeks before the physical move! Crazy stressfull to find a home, get the girls registered in school, pack up the home and clean it up, all in just tow weeks!

Now fast forward to the 27th, the day we planned the move out. we were up ALL night packing and cleaning, just to come to the end of the truck, which was level 10 Tetris type packed, only to find that we could not fit everything. We had to purge so much, baby things, daycare things, and most disappointingly, our couch. Now this couch had been through two different rounds of home daycare, lots of young marines, three kids, and two separate dogs, so by any means, I was not too sad of it needing to stay. However I am typing this in our new livingroom from our temporary couch( our outdoor wicker loveseat). We hope to go get a new one in the next week or so!
We departed from California on August 28th, staying with family two hours north for the night, and beginning the LONG drive the next morning! It took us a total of 6 days to complete the drive, I with two girls at a time, and hubby in the moving truck, alternating Little L and Little A, and ALWAYS with the dog. There was no room for his anxiety induced gas in the car with me, I let him stink up the moving truck with hubby, making it a dude space!

We arrived to our temporary home(rental) for our time in the area. on the first day of school. Our goal was to just get to destination for the girls to miss as little of school as possible. They started the following Tuesday, making mission accomplished! We are blessed to have been told by Hubby's new office that they wanted him to take personal leave before starting his job. It will be LONG nights, working weekends, little face time with him once he begins his time recruiting. Until then, he is off for a whole month. It has been a slow adjustment, and we were thrown right into chilly weather after being in Southern Cali for so long! We had a LONG wait for our internet(nearly a week), keeping me away from the bloggy world even longer. I got all my scrappy stuff unpacked early this week and am anxious for some heavy creating. Until then I will share two layouts completed for UmWowStudio during the past 4 weeks.

I created this layout (check here to see it up on the UWS blog), before the move!I had the vision of all the colorful raindrops, and had just the photos from a random frolick through the lawn sprinklers! I was inspired also to use the UWS August sketch! It was an amazing sketch leaving all that white space below the photo for so many personal interpretations!
How fun! I love how fun the colors bring out the happiness in the photo!

I also created this sentimental layout, showcasing one of my favorite flair buttons EVER!!I added personal journaling to a handmade pocket that also showcased the super fun UWS Potty People. I used one in each size to represent the girls varying ages! You can view this layout on the UWS blog HERE!

How lovely are these golds and rose pink papers together!
Well, thanks for checking in and reading my catch up! I will be back tomorrow with a new layout for LCOM!!!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

It doesn't have to be a snowman! I chose to create mine out of paper! So often we document our lives, our children, our relationships , and memories; and most often that comes in the form of scrapping photos with our children in them; but sometimes, its fun to just scrap without our children's shining faces. I chose to document the big hit in our home lately, as I am greatly sure it is in your home as well! My radio, blu-ray player, coloring pages... they are all over run by this amazing movie.

This weeks sketch reveal over at Let's Capture Our Memories was the perfect fit for this subject.
The three photos down the middle are perfect for a replicated photo of the movie cover! I also got to use my UWS snowflake confetti for the most perfect embellishment for this layout.
I can honestly say that the girls have never been sooo excited over a scrapbook layout in their lives.
If you feel greatly inspired by this super fun sketch, don't hesitate to play along with us. Don't forget to link up your layout HERE for a chance at an awesome prize from LCOM.
There is no time limit - you can always play any week at any time, but the linking form will close on the last day of the month at 11:55pm (Atlantic Standard Time) to allow us to find a prize winner.
Thanks for peeking, and I hope you all now have this song stuck in your head ;).

over the hill

I'm up today on the UmWowStudio blog, sharing a page celebrating my 30th birthday. I was lucky to be born on a major holiday; the 4th of July. We don't normally celebrate my birthday, as the days are full of independence day activities, but this year, with the impending move and the decade birthday, I felt we should atleast squeeze in a cake!
I was super happy how festive this layout felt. Just right for a birthday photo!
Can you see that balloon chipboard. The UWS celebrate confetti is the most amazing product for birthday projects. It also includes these fun starbursts I added, along with cupcakes, streamer confetti, and birthday hats! I also framed out my photo in this super fun UWS speech bubble frame!

On another note, today marks two weeks left in our California home. We are planning to leave on the 25th and stay in a hotel with hubby until the 28th, when he completes his career course, and we depart for Northern New York. There is still much packing and sorting and purging to do, and I chose to keep my daycare kids through this week, adding to my time crunch, but how can you say no to loving on sweet little ones a bit longer!
I hope everyone has an amazing start to their week, and thanks for popping in!

More summer blog hop fun!

Good morning friends! I hope you had a beautiful week. It has slowly been getting quite warmer here by the day, leaving us in high 80's expected for tomorrow. I wanted to share another super fun layout I created for the UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser blog hop. After falling in love with the paint splatter paper for my previously posted layout, I had a strong urge to also create a layout using the circles from her fabulous Color burst paper.
Using the Live,Love,Create paper as my background, I chose to dull down the writing by giving it a light coat of good old fashioned white acrylic paint. Once that dried, I had a fun idea to punch some strips of white cardstock for a greatly textured photo mat paper strip.
Than I fussy cut my selected circles to place outside my mat in a fun manor. Adding to the fun and cheerful feel of this layout, I added a few scattered starbursts from my UWS Snowflake Confetti, and lastly I filled a fun arrow with a piece of confetti from my UWS Arrow Confetti pack!
I am quite happy with the fun feel these products brought to such happy photos. I truly hope you had fun viewing and hoping along with us this week, and more so I hope we inspired and delighted you in some way! Thanks for all your sweet comments, and do not forget to check back at the blogs for your chance at the fun prizes!

UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser Inc. summer blog hop

Good morning friends,
I am sharing some great fun today. The girls over at the blog and I have been working on and sharing some super fun projects this week for our UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser summer blog hop. We have had great inspiration so far from the amazing ladies on the team.

I of course created a layout. We were given the super fun Susan K. Weckesser Live in color paper collection. I fell in love with the  Color Burst paper the second I saw it. The ink splattered look and all the tones are right up my alley. I wanted to create a layout also focusing on the UmWowStudio layered triangles. After backing them with black cardstock, I arranged them on top of my awesome gold vellum paper which I layed atop my misted background paper!
I used the Color Burst paper and Boquet paper to create my hearts. A bit of fussy cutting, confetti flecks, and vellum starbursts later, I added the just what I needed to finish the look I was going for. I used a miniature polaroid to add emphasis to my chosen quote, and chose a rub-on from my stash to create detail to the frame, and also to an arrow confetti piece. Lastly I added a hashtag banner backed with paper atop a fussy cut banner from the Live in color tags.
If you haven't had the chance to yet, we would love for you to hop over to the blog to see all our work and the remainder of the week for more inspiration and also the chance to win one of two awesome prizes!

Christmas in July

Yes, I did indeed create a Christmas layout in July, but it all came to me, and I needed to run with the vision! This layout was made off of this super fun sketch for sketch reveal over at LCOM today!
I was inspired to create a vellum pocket in place of two photos.

I hand cut the shapes, backing them with the patterned paper, gluing down the confetti, covering with vellum and than cutting the patterned paper to frame the shapes. I thought it gave such a magical feel to such lovely photos!
And seriously, how AWESOME is this woodgrain cardstock !
If you have the time, we would love for you to play along at your chance to win a fun prize!
How to Play Along:
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget at the bottom of  (THIS ) post. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.

The name writer

I love watching my girls grow and learn new things, but I would be lying if I said it wasn't super frustrating to teach little A her letters. She is my strong willed child, and insisted on learning it her way. No guiding of the pencil, just personal practice. I loved to watch her never give up, and finally master her name! I created this layout by inspiration found on the scrapbook circle blog. Their mood board was so fun. I mimicked the arrangement of fruit in my background circles, and pulled the wood papers and confetti. Always great inspiration there!

Thanks for stopping by friends. I hope everyone has a beautiful end to their week, and I will be back tomorrow(before a long day at the dentist), to share my layout for this weeks sketch reveal over at LCOM!
