This past week The My Scraps and More team were honored to be asked to work with the super fun cut files from 17 Turtles. I was asked to work with a super playful background cut file called Pinwheel Passion.
How fun is this design! I was super excited to use it, and little did I know, I would have to work with a slightly altered version. While waiting for my cut file to finish, a pair of tiny fingers came creeping into my scrappy space and " pressed buttons" stopping the cut when nearly done. At first I felt a bit defeated, removed the page from the mat, and realized, "you know what, I can work with this" !!!
I wanted to create a less common look, by choosing to fussy cut some shapes to pop out around my layout, creating some super fun dimension.
You can check out all the other amazing cut files used and layouts created this past week on the My Scraps and More Blog and be sure to check out the 17 Turtles store to see all the great cut files available!!! There are so many great designs, it will be hard to only choose a few!!!

Love notes from Mommy
Good morning friends! It is "wicked" chilly here, and the girls and I are getting ready for our long 8+ hour drive back home to daddy today! I wanted to quickly share this sweet layout I created for the My Scraps and More forum. Friday challenges are a "free-for-all" challenge day, and I wanted to create another love themed layout in celebration of this month of love!
I chose to create this layout as a love note to my youngest baby girl.
I used a bit of my American Craft Serendipity paper and some My Mind's Eye triangle paper mixed with my ever amazing October Afternoon Public Library paper and bits and pieces. I chose to write her a little love note as my journaling, embellished with a fun mix of floating elements!
I loved separating the My Minds Eye paper into separate triangles and using them to create great movement and direction to this sweet photo of my bubbly little girl!
Thanks for peeking at my "love notes from mommy". Now I am off for the long journey!!

Mommy's always love their babies...Today, Tomorrow, and always!
Happy Wednesday Friends!! I hope everyone is having a lovely week! We are happily visiting family out of state and therefore have no complaints!! Wednesday means a new challenge up over at Scrapbook Challenges. This week we worked with a festive mood board.
How yummy is this color combo!! I just had to use up this photo of my three sweet loves, and The pinks of their bathingsuits worked perfectly for the pink toned vellum circles!
I just love how well this floating hearts image from my Simple Stories stash looked here. Almost as if it were just made for this layout and mood board challenge.
Some of the other takes on this board can be found on the Scrapbook Challenges Blog! We would love to see your take on the blog, where you can link up for a fun prize! In order to be eligible for our Monthly Prize drawing all completed layouts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST February 28, 2015.

Footprints
I love creating holiday projects, but truthfully, I am not one to gravitate towards typical red and pink valentine product! I created this "valentines" layout to document some of the most influential ladies from my life. My Great Grandma Louise whom passed away when I was just 17, My great Aunt Alice who lost the battle to lung cancer when I was around 10 years of age, and My husbands sweet Nana whom just made her way to heaven after years of battling cancer as well.
I am a firm believer that our past creates the people we are today, and therefore owe a lot to these influential women for helping to create the woman I am proud to be today!
I found all of my awesome papers to create my background at My Scraps and More of course!! A great mix of studio calico and pebbles papers! And I finally got around to purchasing and using one of those fabulous burlap bows from Fancy pants!!
I found the greatest quote to use on this layout , just perfect for how our hearts feel after the passing of loved ones!
If you are loving any of the products posted here, you should certainly hop on over to the My Scraps and More store, where you can get another 20% off your purchases this month, and be on the lookout for all the new product coming in this week!!!!

Look at this!
Its Monday, so that means there is a brand new sketch out for Scrapbook Challenges. I was excited to have a grid layout to work with. I have been loving many layouts floating around using this type of layout with awesome embellishing in each square and have been wanting to create one as well!
I played around with my stash of Me and My Big Ideas and found a beautiful color scheme to work with. Ya'll I found this awesome Heidi Swapp project life kit at my local Michaels with wood veneer words, and I am IN LOVE!! I want them on every layout! I balanced my layout with a wood veneer arrow block , and lots of layering of goodies!
We were super blessed to be able to take a "childfree" trip from Maryland to Cali a few years back. I was about 7 months along with little K and flew across country all by my lonesome to meet up with hubby that was already over there on business. I must be a big kid at heart, because my first thought process was "lets go to Seaworld" stress free of the kids running around! We had never been anywhere like this before and it was an awesome day! Can I just say I may have been a beluga whale in my last life, the love I have for watching them all day is strong!!
The girls had so many fun takes on this layout, we would love to to share them all with you on the Scrapbook Challenges website, and would LOVE to see your take on this fun sketch!!
In order to be eligible for our Monthly Prize drawing all completed layouts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST February 28, 2015.

I started with a fun cutfile as my background, using my trusty ole vintage dictionary as its filler. I found some fun photobooth pics of hubby and I to use, keeping with a month of lovey based layouts!

Delight in the gifts of life
Happy Valentines Day lovely friends! I hope everyone is having a sweet love filled day. This week coming up is the girls week off from school so we drove to Maine to visit family for the week, and sadly, we got her just in time for another MAJOR storm! yall, they truly have nowhere else for the snow to go. It most certainly makes me dream and wish for the near 75 degree weather going on in cali now! Since this cannot be, I will have to relive the heat and fun times through photos instead!
I created this layout to document a trip just last year to Sea World. I used some awesome goodies from My Scraps and More. It is no secret that I love using book style patterned papers, and I loved how the neutrals in this paper from Jillibean Soup really made my photos POP! How adorable are these photos of the girls admiring the mama and baby whale. Its a bit difficult to photograph the detail of the whale , so I added an arrow to show where she was within the photo!
I created a fun title circling an embellishment filled circle for such a fun look. Using great finds of random embellishments to work with an mix created just the look I was dreaming of!
There are still so many great finds in the store, but I cannot wait for all the new CHA goodies to come in. The owner has great taste and ordered so many of the new released products. Now if only the shipping docks would stop creating a hold on product. Until than you can stock up on all the goodies with an awesome sale of 20% off all product using the code: LOVETHIS20 !!!!
Now I am off to relax before the expected 12-16 inches starts piling up!! I hope everyone gets extra cuddles today!!!

Here and now
There's a new sketch up over at Scrapbook Challenges this week. I loved this weeks sketch and how my layout turned out! Hubby asked me last week to find some old photos for him, and I hit the jackpot of old photos that my heart just screamed out to document. The photo on this layout was from WAY back in the day. Hubby and I went on a hike with a few friends up a mountain, and it made for some amazing memories and BEAUTIFUL photos!!
The sketch we worked with was a bit wider than my completed layout, but I came across these awesome tags from Heidi Swapp at my local Michaels and just had to use them. they are meant for water color, but I kept these ones white so not to over power my background paper!
And how awesome are those wood veneer words from Heidi Swapp!!! I am IN LOVE with them!
We would love for you to stop into the blog and join in to play along! In order to be eligible for our Monthly Prize drawing all completed layouts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST February 28, 2015.

Business in the front, party in the back!
There a fun new challenge up over at Scrapbook Challenges this week. We were inspired to use a funny quote or story as our journaling. I have been saving this great photo for just the right layout! The story behind the awesomeness is that Hubby and I were cruising around the mall one day when we spotted this sweet "mullet sweatband". Being the eccentrically humored couple that we are, we knew that we had to make it ours! So we became the proud owners of this sweatband that became the party mullet, always coming out when the friends came over! What completes a social gathering like a mullet sweatband; nothing of course!
That's right, all " Business in the front, Party in the back !"
If you haven't noticed, I am slightly obsessed with three things on my layouts: playing with sequins, colored thread, and my floating patterned paper dots! This combo makes my heart happy!!
You can check out all of the other funny takes on this challenge HERE , and play along with us. We would LOVE to hear your funny stories! In order to be eligible for our Monthly Prize drawing all completed layouts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST February 28, 2015.
You can find the entry button in the sidebar and all current challenges listed on the Challenges Tab.

Uncle "6"
happy Tuesday friends!
The snow has been piling up here this week. The Girls were so excited to have enough snow to build fun snowmen with! They received this super fun snowman kit for Christmas which came with funny wooden pieces to create colorful and unique snowfriends. As you can see, they had great fun with it.
Now I know what you are thinking, "this lady doesn't know how to add her numbers!", but there is a silly backstory that can hardly be explained to its full awesomeness, but long story short; this is the documenting of our dear uncle Ken6y. As you can see, this silly uncle has a personal joke which adds a #6 to his name. It has been a life long childhood joke that we have all had from many years ago...this man is known as 6. The greatest and most uniquely fun uncle in the world! I had so much fun building off of the sketch which I used as my middle base.
I used some Jillibean Soup tabs and stacked them atop one another as my title base. I love the neutral colors that can be mixed perfectly with some pops of bright tones, like the orange paper I used!
I was happy to be able to finally document this sweet photo of one of our favorite people. I hope ya'll are staying warm and not too saddened by the next 6 weeks of winter, ( insert big sigh!) Thanks for popping in and seeing what I created from the "warmth" of my scrappy space!

Now, I am disappointed to share that the cold has been far too much for me this year. going from California to New York has created a lot of sickness and asthma issues for this mama, so daddy was the playtime hero this day, leaving alone time for me to play with pretty paper!
I created this fun new layout using this weeks sketch reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges.
How awesome is this sketch! It leaves soo much room for personal style! I chose to slim the sketch down within a full 12x12 layout, adding scattered bits around the perimeter .
