More summer blog hop fun!

Good morning friends! I hope you had a beautiful week. It has slowly been getting quite warmer here by the day, leaving us in high 80's expected for tomorrow. I wanted to share another super fun layout I created for the UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser blog hop. After falling in love with the paint splatter paper for my previously posted layout, I had a strong urge to also create a layout using the circles from her fabulous Color burst paper.
Using the Live,Love,Create paper as my background, I chose to dull down the writing by giving it a light coat of good old fashioned white acrylic paint. Once that dried, I had a fun idea to punch some strips of white cardstock for a greatly textured photo mat paper strip.
Than I fussy cut my selected circles to place outside my mat in a fun manor. Adding to the fun and cheerful feel of this layout, I added a few scattered starbursts from my UWS Snowflake Confetti, and lastly I filled a fun arrow with a piece of confetti from my UWS Arrow Confetti pack!
I am quite happy with the fun feel these products brought to such happy photos. I truly hope you had fun viewing and hoping along with us this week, and more so I hope we inspired and delighted you in some way! Thanks for all your sweet comments, and do not forget to check back at the blogs for your chance at the fun prizes!

UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser Inc. summer blog hop

Good morning friends,
I am sharing some great fun today. The girls over at the blog and I have been working on and sharing some super fun projects this week for our UmWowStudio and Susan K. Weckesser summer blog hop. We have had great inspiration so far from the amazing ladies on the team.

I of course created a layout. We were given the super fun Susan K. Weckesser Live in color paper collection. I fell in love with the  Color Burst paper the second I saw it. The ink splattered look and all the tones are right up my alley. I wanted to create a layout also focusing on the UmWowStudio layered triangles. After backing them with black cardstock, I arranged them on top of my awesome gold vellum paper which I layed atop my misted background paper!
I used the Color Burst paper and Boquet paper to create my hearts. A bit of fussy cutting, confetti flecks, and vellum starbursts later, I added the just what I needed to finish the look I was going for. I used a miniature polaroid to add emphasis to my chosen quote, and chose a rub-on from my stash to create detail to the frame, and also to an arrow confetti piece. Lastly I added a hashtag banner backed with paper atop a fussy cut banner from the Live in color tags.
If you haven't had the chance to yet, we would love for you to hop over to the blog to see all our work and the remainder of the week for more inspiration and also the chance to win one of two awesome prizes!

Christmas in July

Yes, I did indeed create a Christmas layout in July, but it all came to me, and I needed to run with the vision! This layout was made off of this super fun sketch for sketch reveal over at LCOM today!
I was inspired to create a vellum pocket in place of two photos.

I hand cut the shapes, backing them with the patterned paper, gluing down the confetti, covering with vellum and than cutting the patterned paper to frame the shapes. I thought it gave such a magical feel to such lovely photos!
And seriously, how AWESOME is this woodgrain cardstock !
If you have the time, we would love for you to play along at your chance to win a fun prize!
How to Play Along:
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget at the bottom of  (THIS ) post. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.
3. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword LCOM81. LCOM products are NOT required to participate, and you can enter as many times as you want. If you don't have a particular shape indicated in the sketch, feel free to substitute.

The name writer

I love watching my girls grow and learn new things, but I would be lying if I said it wasn't super frustrating to teach little A her letters. She is my strong willed child, and insisted on learning it her way. No guiding of the pencil, just personal practice. I loved to watch her never give up, and finally master her name! I created this layout by inspiration found on the scrapbook circle blog. Their mood board was so fun. I mimicked the arrangement of fruit in my background circles, and pulled the wood papers and confetti. Always great inspiration there!

Thanks for stopping by friends. I hope everyone has a beautiful end to their week, and I will be back tomorrow(before a long day at the dentist), to share my layout for this weeks sketch reveal over at LCOM!

My current Thief

I came across this blog today, The girl and the good , and this photo caught my eye.
This is my personal downfall right now. I am normally quite good at living in the moment, but life's story has me in limbo, waiting for tomorrow's. With long days alone, with my three girls and two daycare babies, while hubby is away all week long, I live for dreaming of the nights. Nights when all my angels are happily in their beds, drifting off peacefully, and I am cuddled up in bed with my current read, just to drift off to sleep and awake to the feeling of waiting through the next days events, for the longing of my bed again. Being a military wife has given me my share of waiting for the next move. We are currently in that state of waiting once again. We have 44 days before we move on to our next destination, our next journey, but imagine, if you can, knowing that a huge move is upon you, and you are yet to know where that destination is. Hubby was told we will know where we are going by the end of next week. So I find myself counting the days into nights, and the nights into weeks, until we can come to the day where we know. The day when the real planning begins, and my heart can settle a bit, carrying with it the dreaming of new ventures,( hopefully near family) and planning amongst the chaos. I long for the day that I can take each day for the gift that it is again. Until than I wait.

good morning!
Did you get a chance to see my post over at the UmWowStudio blog this morning. I shared this fun layout of a sweet moment I caught with little K and our dog, Chester Blu. As good "big sisters" do, Little K sat down to read Chester Blu a book of choice. He very sweetly stayed to listen, and I just had to get a photo of it.
I am obsessed with floating objects later, and did just that with my UmWowStudio Layered Triangles and pops of gold vellum. I love the fun look it brings to the page. I also used a tab from my This Day Hashtag set. Backing it with cardstock really made it pop.
I also chose to add the perfect touch to my journaling with my Layered Squares, using one to frame out this sweet punched heart. Thanks for peeking in. I am off to find some coffee for my extremely tired self.I hope your day is wonderful!

The wandering soul

hey everyone. I am super excited to share that I just posted my first project for UmWowStudio. Being completely honest, I was slightly intimidated being chosen to be part of an amazing team. The other girls are so wildly artistic with their projects. Paints, inks, and gesso galore, and I'm over here happily with my mist and occasional water paints, but I was so amazed at how versatile the products can be. I tore into the product the minute it reached my mailbox, creating 2 layouts and still crazily inspired for more. I created a layout about my love for seeing the world. I grew up in a smaller town in the state of Maine. I never traveled far with family, until I fell in love with a boy that became a military man right out of Highschool. We have lived in many states, and it has sparked a desire to experience more culture and life.

I knew I wanted to use this laser cut map right away, and had the idea to use UWS arrow confetti. It was unexpectedly smaller than expected so I used them to point out all the states I have called home.
I added another arrow and one of the layered triangles to frame out my title.I also added an UWS star flair. They are larger than average flair, adding great detail. I search for the perfect quote, and found this amazing one on Pinterest, of course.
If you get the chance, stop by and leave some love, and stop by the shop to see all the great product they have. The style is amazing, and he product is so inspiring and unique! Happy Monday friends, thanks for stopping by!

what a grand canyon i was!

Hello friends, I hope you all had a wonderful, family filled holiday yesterday! The day also marked my 30th birthday, and I happily celebrated it with hubby and the girls. Just a store bought cake to celebrate! Nothing too fancy.

Its also time for a new sketch reveal over at LCOM today! We were asked to work with a fun sketch. At first my mind went straight to a project life spread, but I changed my mind and decided to create it into  layout!
Here is the fun sketch; and here is how I was inspired by it.

We had made a priority of stopping at the grand canyon on our move across country. I have been saving up these photos for the perfect project. I recently watched a class by Jill Sprott and she explained how she types on her projects. I loved the explanation, and gave it a try. I have always ,honestly , disliked my handwriting and always have a dislike of it on layouts, but was always too lazy and intimidated to print it out, but I love it so much better and plan to stick with this for now on! Another thing I overcame in this layout was my use of my handheld sewing machine on my layouts. I purchased a hand sewing machine somewhere around 5 years ago and was too nervous to use it on my projects, too afraid to mess up. I decided it was time to give in, and  I am glad I did.  It was just the touch this layout needed.
I hope you are inspired also and join us over at the blog. Link up for your chance at a prize!

Happy Wednesday friends! I am quickly approaching the dirty Thirty, Friday, July 4th will mark a new life mark for me. I must say I am looking greatly forward to what my 30's will have to offer! I wanted to share a little visual love for your soul, to help you get over the hump of the week. I just completed my next layout for LCOM, set to share on Saturday. Until then, here is a peek at what I have been busy with, and just know it includes my first attempt at machine stitching on a layout, a personal intimidation that I have been meaning to conquer! I hope everyone has a beautiful day!
